Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen called on the West to step up military support for Ukraine. He emphasized that Europe does not understand the seriousness of the war through the prism of history and has not yet given Ukraine enough support. He said this on Saturday, March 2, Yle reports.
“The money to support arms in Ukraine must be found immediately,” Hyakkänen said.
The head of the Ministry of Defense pointed out the problems with shells faced by Europe and mentioned the importance of increasing the own production of weapons in the EU countries.
“There has already been some success here. European countries have been able to increase their own production and are close to achieving the goal,” Häkkänen stressed.
He recalled that the goal of the EU was one million artillery shells, which the West promised to transfer to Ukraine in the near future.
