The officials’ discussion concerned the theoretical possibilities of Ukraine using the German Taurus missiles, including that they contain sensitive information.
The German Greens accused Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin of trying to destabilize the situation in the country. Agnieszka Brugger, vice-chairman of the Green parliamentary group, said this on Saturday, March 2, Spiegel reports.
Brugger warned that after the recording of an internal conversation between German Air Force officers was published in Russia, further acts of sabotage by the Russian Federation are possible in the coming months.
“The events of the last few days show once again how Vladimir Putin is trying to exert an enormous negative influence on our open society, especially in Germany, through disinformation, destabilization and espionage,” said the vice-chair of the parliamentary group.
He emphasized that this year, which is already full of important elections, we should expect an increase in threats from Russia.
“We must prepare for this in politics, media and society. As a society we must be stronger, stronger and safer,” added Brugger.
Earlier, Russian propagandists outlined the contents of a conversation between the German Air Force Inspector General Ingo Gerharz and three officials about the details of the possible delivery to Ukraine and the potential use of Taurus missiles. This caused a scandal in German politics.
Let’s remember that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that he is not transferring Taurus long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine because they could hit targets in Moscow. It has also been reported that the British government is privately trying to persuade their German colleagues to transfer Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
