At the outbreak of a full-scale war, Germany became one of the countries that actively provided military, political and financial support to Ukraine.
The warehouses of the Ministry of Defense received 50 thousand new high-quality first aid kits from Germany. In the near future they will be transferred to the troops. Deputy Minister of Defense Natalya Kalmykova announced this on Saturday, March 2, on the Facebook of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
“Today I checked the quality and content of the first-aid kits, which have arrived in warehouses under a contract with the German government, and I am satisfied. So far, there are 50 thousand, in total, a contract has finished for 500 thousand first-aid kits,” said Kalmykova.
He added that each of the first aid kits that will be received will be equipped with an additional tourniquet and occlusive dressing.
Kalmykova reported that new contracts are now being prepared for signing to fully meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for first aid kits.
“We must move away from training volunteers who carry first aid kits to the front. All provisions must be taken care of by the state. This year we will solve this issue,” the deputy minister emphasized.
Testing of special modular body armor for naval forces and engineering troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has begun in Ukraine.
Earlier, Natalya Kalmykova, together with representatives of the command of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Leleka Foundation team, reviewed the composition of medical equipment and assessed the condition and availability of first aid kits and backpacks of combat medic.
