US authorities have extended the period of stay of Ukrainian asylum seekers on American territory for up to 2 years. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine in connection with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova on Saturday, March 2.
Ukrainians who came to the United States under the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) program, a simplified initiative to grant Ukrainian citizens humanitarian permission to enter the United States, or who received humanitarian permission to enter checkpoints in entire border of the American state at the time. from February 11 to April 25, 2022.
“Note that a humanitarian entry permit is one of the most common and frequently used types of special status for entry. This type of special permit allows entry into the United States and is issued on a humanitarian basis to people , under the law, does not have a regular right of entry into the United States,” the message said.
