Moscow is in contact with Kiev regarding the plane crash case and the Ukrainian side was interested in the possibility of handing over the bodies. This statement was made by Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova on March 1, as reported by propaganda publications RIA Novosti and The Moscow Times.
According to her, this issue is being discussed with Verkhovna Rada Commissioner Dmitry Lubinets. Moskalkova said that she had already provided the Ukrainian ombudsman with “all the answers to the question about the incident.”
Regarding the bodies, I immediately said that we have confirmation and all the DNA, which, according to the examination, allows us to identify the person,” noted the representative of the dictatorship.
Meanwhile, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmitry Lubinets, said that so far, at his request, the Russian Federation has not handed over any official lists, has not confirmed the death of Ukrainian prisoners of war, and has not provided international organizations with access to the site of the tragedy.
“I note that Ukraine’s position is unchanged: we demand a transparent investigation, access to the crash site, and from the first day we demanded official lists and repatriation of bodies and relevant examinations (if confirmed), he noted.
Let us remind you that on January 24, an Il-76 military plane crashed in the Korochansky district of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. The Russian Ministry of Defense then stated that there were allegedly 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war on board who were being taken for exchange.
Ukraine submitted requests to Russia for the return of the bodies of servicemen allegedly on the downed plane. The Main Intelligence Directorate stated that the aggressor state did not respond to these requests.
