Britain explains how long Ukraine will experience a shortage of ammunition

The European Union will not deliver the promised million shells to Ukraine by the previously agreed deadline of March 1, 2024.

Ukraine will experience a shortage of ammunition and, accordingly, will be at a disadvantage on the battlefield for several months until Western countries agree on additional measures to support Kyiv. The Chief of the British Defense Staff, Tony Radakin, said this on Tuesday, February 27, The Guardian wrote.

In a speech at a conference in London, he noted that Ukraine is now facing a difficult situation on the ground, where its army lacks ammunition, because military aid from the United States of America (USA) is suspended by Republicans in Congress, and Europe still can’t fill this gap.

“I think this is a problem that will probably last at least the next few months,” Radakin suggested.

He said that “Ukraine probably won’t be able to mount a new counteroffensive until late summer, but more likely before next year.”

According to Radakin, there are talks with NATO allies about “how we can strengthen our support for Ukraine.”

“New announcements on this issue are expected to be made at the July NATO summit in Washington or in the lead-up to the event,” he said.

Let’s recall that around 20 European leaders met in Paris to discuss strengthening coordination between allies and Ukraine.
