This decision was supported by 536 MEPs. Only 40 parliamentarians voted against financial support for Ukraine. Another 39 deputies abstained. This became known from the broadcast of the plenary meeting of the European Parliament.
The Ukraine Facility program provides for the provision of 50 billion euros to Ukraine during 2024-2027. This amount will be divided into loans (33 billion euros) and grants (17 billion euros), which will be paid during 2024-2027. The first tranche in the amount of 4.5 billion euros will arrive in March.
Let us recall that on February 1, during the summit, the leaders of the European Union approved the allocation of 50 billion euros for Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program for 2024-2027.
And on February 5, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union reached preliminary agreement on a new mechanism to support Ukraine through the creation of a Ukraine Fund worth 50 billion euros in the EU budget. It was agreed to create a new mechanism to support the restoration, reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine.
The final decision rested only with the European Parliament.
