Der Spiegel said the negotiations are being done in secret as India is trying to maintain close ties with the Russian Federation.
Germany is conducting confidential negotiations with India on the purchase of shells for Ukraine through intermediaries. This was said by the German publication Der Spiegel.
The media added that hundreds of thousands of artillery shells are stockpiled in India. The talks are being held in secret as India tries to maintain friendship with Moscow.
The publication suggests that such agreements in the interest of Ukraine are possible, in particular, with Arab countries. Some of them have large reserves of ammunition. Experts interviewed by journalists believe that there are opportunities for the production of ammunition in the Balkans and some African countries.
Germany and India did not comment on information about possible negotiations.
Remind us that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba said that to defeat the Russian invaders the Ukrainian army does not have enough shells, air defense and long-range missiles.
