Among the enemy’s main targets are the power plants that supply light to most of the region.
In the Lviv region, a couple was exposed for helping the Russian occupiers prepare a missile attack on the region’s energy infrastructure. The SBU reported this on February 26.
It was noted that the defendants worked for the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation. Among the enemy’s main targets are the power plants that supply light to most of the region. The main defendant is a man who, since 2023, is serving a sentence in a local colony for causing grievous bodily harm.
He came to the attention of the Russian intelligence service for spreading messages on social networks in support of armed aggression against Ukraine. FSB officials contacted him and recruited him remotely. After that, they switched to communicating in an anonymous chat, where the prisoner received undercover tasks and step-by-step instructions for completing them.
The enemy agent recruited his wife “throughout” to cooperate with the FSB. At her request, the woman had to find the “necessary” energy facilities and photograph them with a location reference.
The Russians promised to finance all “current” expenses of their henchmen related to intelligence and subversive activities, as well as money transfers.
The invaders planned to use the intelligence information collected by the couple to launch missile attacks that were supposed to cut power in the western region of Ukraine. The SBU immediately exposed the criminal intentions and prevented their execution.
During a search of a Russian agent’s cell, law enforcement officials seized a mobile phone the man used to communicate with the Russian intelligence service.
The defendant was charged with treason committed under martial law, as well as justifying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. He faces up to life in prison.
It also plans to express suspicion of infidelity to the defendant’s wife. The investigation is ongoing.
We remind you that a Russian agent collecting data about the port of Nikolaev has been detained.
Earlier, a Russian intelligence agent was detained preparing a missile attack on the railway and military hospitals in the Cherkasy region.
