The need to change the law on mobilization

The law on mobilization in Ukraine is being changed, so that the current document does not meet today’s realities.

    .

The old law was adopted long before the start of a full-scale war. Changes to this law are demanded by the Ministry of Defense and the military themselves. The document is intended to resolve a number of important issues. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on February 25 at a press conference at the “Ukraine. The year is 2024.”

They are due to the fact that some issues have not been resolved, such as issues of conscripts, rotations, improved leaves, how long you need to serve, how much training. The parameters are changing because the law on mobilization was in place before the war and basically does not correspond to the realities of the war,” he noted.

Let us recall that on February 7, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading the bill on mobilization in the form that was again proposed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on January 30. Thousands of amendments were made to the document by the second reading.

The draft law provides, in particular, for reducing the conscription age from 27 to 25 years, as well as excluding the “limitedly fit” category from the list of findings of the military medical commission (MMC). All who have this status will be required to undergo a military medical examination again and must be found either fit or unfit for service.
