Former US President Donald Trump won a resounding victory in the Republican presidential primaries in South Carolina, the home state of his main rival Nikki Galey.

Consequently, Trump, who continues his winning streak in every GOP primary, will apparently be the party’s nominee in the 2024 presidential election, NBC News reported.
NBC’s exit poll shows that:
- Trump and Gailey have almost identical ratings among college-educated Republicans, 51% and 47%;
- however, Republican voters without a college degree give a significant advantage to Trump – 75% to 25%.
“I have never seen the Republican Party more united,” Trump said.
Even so, Gailey has made it clear that a loss in her home state won’t force her out of the race just yet. She has already planned a trip to the states where the next primaries will be held.
