Georgia has reaffirmed its strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Even after two years of hard fighting, Russia was unable to defeat the Ukrainians. Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili pointed this out on Saturday, February 24, on the second anniversary of the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
“Two years have passed, but Russia has not won! Russia has not been able to break Ukraine and your strength. Russia has not been able to divide Europe and isolate you from Europe. Unity with you is very united, support is evident, and victory and victory are yours!” Zurabishvili said.
Words of support were also published by the Georgian Foreign Ministry. The diplomatic department declared its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“Two years have passed since the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and a clear violation of the basic principles and norms of international law and the UN Charter.
War has claimed countless lives and created millions of refugees. On behalf of Georgia, we reaffirm our strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Georgia stands by Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Recently it was reported about the death of two Georgian Legion soldiers who fought on the side of Ukraine.
