The Pole has been accused of inciting war against Poland, praising Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and promoting communist ideology.
A Polish farmer who hung a USSR flag and a poster on his tractor reading “Putin, face Ukraine, Brussels and our officials” now faces jail. The man was officially charged. This was reported by the Polish publication Onet.
The media said that the tractor driver Pyotra G. was detained, and his banner and flag confiscated. The man was summoned on Friday, February 23, for questioning.
The press secretary of the Gliwice Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Joanna Smorczewska, said that the Pole was accused of inciting a war of aggression against Poland, praising Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and promoting communist ideology.
The farmer refused to explain what he did. Peter G. was awarded a preventive measure – police supervision and property bail.
The man faces up to five years in prison.
We remind you that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland was alarmed by the pro-Russian poster of protesting farmers on February 20. The department called on the protesters to distance themselves from such individuals, as it harms the reputation of country.
As you know, on February 20, Polish farmers staged a mass protest and blocked six checkpoints on the Ukrainian border.
Let’s add that Polish farmers intend to extend this action until April.
