The UK has announced a new military aid package to Ukraine. We are talking about anti-tank weapons, Sky News reported, citing Defense Minister Grant Shapps on Thursday, February 22.
“Today I can announce a new package of 200 Brimstone anti-tank missiles to further strengthen the defense of Ukraine,” he said in a speech to the House of Commons.
Shapps said the missiles have previously had a significant impact on the battlefield, in one case forcing the Russians to retreat while trying to cross a river.
The minister added that Britain will train the Ukrainian military with other allies. We are talking about another 10 thousand fighters for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the first half of 2024.
Shapps warned that this year will be a “watershed” for Ukraine.
“The time has come for the West and all civilized countries to step up and give Ukraine the necessary support,” he concluded.
