The grain that Polish protesters poured out today was sent to Germany in transit through Poland, Ukrzaliznytsia reported.

They were outraged by this event and contacted the police and the embassy. Ukrzaliznytsia noted that at the Medika station there are about 40 Ukrainian freight cars with agricultural products waiting to be reloaded.
Ukrzaliznytsia strictly adheres to the ban on the import of grain cargo into the Republic of Poland introduced in April 2023 and only transports these cargoes in transit through the territory of the neighboring country. All carriages at the border are checked by Polish regulatory authorities and are sealed. This makes it impossible for Ukrainian grain to enter the Polish market,” the department said in an official statement.
Polish protesters near the border opened a shipping container containing agricultural products and poured onto the ruts. This happened near the Medika-Shegini checkpoint. The protesters blocked the railway track for about 15 minutes, then returned to the highway again, where they blocked the movement of freight transport.
On February 20, a new wave of mass protests by farmers was announced in Poland. The President of Ukraine said that the reason was “politics, not grain.” Only 5-6% of Ukrainian agricultural exports go through Poland.
How does border blocking work?
Polish farmers have tightened restrictions on vehicle traffic on the border with Ukraine. This applies to six checkpoints, the State Border Service of Ukraine reports.
“Medica-Shegini”
Polish farmers completely blocked the movement of trucks through the checkpoint. The end date of the blockade has not been announced.
“Dolgobychev-Ugrinov”
At the checkpoint, protesters plan to block traffic for all types of transport until 17.00 on February 20.
“Zosin-Ustilug”
From 13:00 to 16:00, protesters intend to restrict the movement of buses, trucks and cars in both directions. They promise to allow only trucks carrying humanitarian aid through.
“Korchevaya-Krakovets”
Until 21:00 on February 20, protesters plan to block the movement of trucks leaving Poland, except for those transporting critical cargo. At the same time, buses, minibuses, and cars will be able to move in both directions without hindrance.
“Grebene-Rava-Russkaya”
Protesters from 13:00 on February 20 completely blocked traffic in both directions of all categories of vehicles, except those carrying critical cargo and humanitarian aid.
“Dorogusk-Yagodin”
By 19:00, protest organizers intend to completely block truck traffic in both directions.
