The attackers attacked the websites of at least four Ukrainian media outlets and posted a fake story about the alleged “defeat” of elite units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Avdiivka by the Russian invaders.
Russian hackers attacked the sources of popular Ukrainian media and published fake news. The State Special Communications Service reported this on the evening of Sunday, February 18.
“Russia continues the information war against our state. Today, Russian hackers have carried out another attack on a number of Ukrainian media and posted fake information on their sources,” said the message.
It was noted that the attack was announced, in particular, by representatives of Ukrainskaya Pravda, Liga.net, Apostrophe and Telegraph.
LIGA.net reports that we are talking about fake news about the alleged “defeat” of elite units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Avdeevka by the Russian invaders. The editors said they were not involved in publishing Russian disinformation; the site has been vandalized by unknown persons. The publication of the same fake was announced in Ukrainskaya Pravda.
Specialists from the State Service for Special Communications are already conducting an investigation into this incident.
It was previously reported that a group of hackers linked to Russian intelligence had been neutralized in the United States.
