Militants have tried to attack US ships using surface and underwater drones, as well as cruise missiles.
The US military carried out five strikes in areas of Yemen on Saturday in self-defense against Houthi militants. About that reported US Central Command (CENTCOM).
It was noted that the US forces successfully hit three mobile anti-ship cruise missiles, an underwater drone and a surface drone.
“This is the first use of drones by Houthi trackers since the attacks began on October 23, 2023,” CENTCOM said.
Central Command said it had determined that the missiles and drones pose an immediate threat to US Navy ships as well as commercial shipping in the area.
It will be recalled that the United States intercepted a shipment of weapons from Iran to the Houthis, including 200 containers with various lethal equipment, including parts of medium-range ballistic missiles, explosives and anti-tank guided missile launcher.
