The Ukrainian authorities do not perceive the situation in Congress with the decision to further support Ukraine as a “betrayal.” However, Kyiv is very much counting on a positive decision from the American congressmen. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this on February 17 at a briefing after negotiations with US Vice President Kamala Harris on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the President’s Office reported.
This package is vital for us. We are not considering alternatives today because we count on the United States as our strategic partner, and that it will remain a strategic partner. Do I think this is a treacherous position? No, because I don’t think that our strategic partner can afford not to support Ukraine,” he said.
The head of state emphasized that the regime of Vladimir Putin must continue to be put under pressure and do this in all directions. He stated the need to ensure the confiscation and use of Russian assets in favor of Ukraine in 2024.
Let us recall that during a speech at the Munich Security Conference, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that it is possible to return home millions of Ukrainian refugees. He believes that if the Ukrainian Armed Forces have enough Western air defense systems that can shoot down all Russian missiles, then millions of citizens will return to Ukraine.
