Multi-role fighters may appear in Ukrainian skies in early June this year, writes Foreign Policy.
Ukraine may receive the first F-16 fighter in the summer of 2024. Foreign Policy reports this in connection with the statements of European leaders at the Munich Security Conference.
“I think in June we will see them in Ukraine,” the publication quoted Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas as saying.
These data were also confirmed by another European official who was in Munich.
“The Ukrainian authorities expect that by the end of the fiscal year in the United States (September) 12 pilots will be trained to fly fighter jets,” the Foreign Policy material said.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense said that all necessary decisions on the acquisition of F-16 aircraft have been made and the process is “moving according to plan.”
