Military intelligence special forces defended the last route from Avdeevka for a week, inflicting colossal losses on the constantly advancing Russian assault units. They provided the evacuation corridor together with soldiers of the Special Operations Forces, the 3rd Special Operations Brigade, the 225th Separate Assault Battalion, and the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Main Intelligence Directorate announced this on February 17 in Telegram.
Intelligence emphasized that their fighters are now holding the defense in pre-prepared positions to prevent further advance of the invaders.
Meanwhile, the Third Assault Brigade showed footage of soldiers moving under enemy fire. The stormtroopers noted that in conditions of intense fighting, almost every movement and rotation of Ukrainian forces in Avdiivka was accompanied by Russian drones and artillery.
Let us recall that on February 17, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, said that the Defense Forces left the city to avoid encirclement by the enemy. President Volodymyr Zelensky said leaving the city was a logical and professional decision for the sake of military lives.
