On the night of February 17, a missile threat was declared at Kursk; half an hour earlier, similar signals were launched in two districts of the city of Belgorod – Gubkinsky and Starooskolsky.
The explosions occurred in the Kursk and Belgorod regions. Local authorities on Saturday, February 17, announced a “missile danger” and “air defense work.”
In particular, the governor of the Kursk region of Russia, Roman Starovoyt, said that the attack was rejected in the region.
“Air defense is operating in the Kursk region,” he wrote, explaining the explosions.
Starovoit called on local residents at home to hide in rooms without windows with solid walls (corridors, bathrooms, storage rooms), and for those on the street, he recommended going to the nearest building, passage underground or parking lot.
In turn, the Russian Telegram channel Astra published a video with the caption: “Explosions occurred in Belgorod and Kursk.”
The aggressor country, Russia, could spend up to $211 billion to equip, deploy and support its military operations in Ukraine.
Media reports that Russia needs to double its military budget by 2023.
