The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has already published a video of the destruction of this ship on its Facebook page.
It is noted that the enemy ship was attacked by Magura V5 maritime attack drones off the coast of temporarily occupied Crimea near the city of Alupka. The successful mission was carried out by special forces of Group 13 GUR. The operation was carried out in cooperation with all components of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The implementation of the special operation became possible with the support of the United24 platform, the Main Intelligence Directorate noted. – “Caesar Kunikov” received critical holes on the port side and began to sink.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the search and rescue operation carried out by the occupiers was not successful.
It is noted that the Project 775 VDK “Caesar Kunikov” is one of the newest Russian vessels. It could accommodate 87 crew members on board and was used by Moscow during its wars against Georgia, Syria and Ukraine.
The GUR notes the symbolism of the date of the destruction of the ship – the Russian officer Caesar Kunikov, after whom the ship was named, was killed exactly 81 years ago – on February 14, 1943.
