Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov announced this today, February 14, in his Telegram channel.
The whole world is focusing on open-source products. The main advantage is that any developer from anywhere in the world will be able to study the documentation and begin developing their own additional services or microservices suitable for the application,” he emphasized.
According to Fedorov, open source will also allow Action to be quickly exported to other countries.
Open-source products are about transparency, which will also be a good signal for our partners,” the official noted.
The minister emphasized that the world’s top products operate on open source.
For example, the Estonian X-Road application – on its basis we built the Trembita system, which is responsible for the rapid exchange of data between registries,” he noted.
Also, opening the “Actions” code will allow you to:
- The IT community understands how the “Action” works, analyze the code and features of the application architecture;
- developers will be able to propose changes or improvements that will be reviewed by the Action team.
The path to all cool government solutions is open-source. “Action” will be the first, the minister emphasized. — Having opened the code, of course, no one will be able to access the registries and encryption features of the Action.
