The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Army spoke about the situation at the front and the immediate plans of the command.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexander Syrsky gave his first interview as head of the Ukrainian army to the German television channel ZDF. He spoke about the new stage of the war, Ukraine’s goals, and the ratio of losses on the front. The situation at the front on Tuesday, February 13, was discussed in an interview with the German television channel ZDF.
In particular, he drew attention to the role of technology in combat.
“We now see the role of drones increasing every day because their use is increasing on both sides. We see that drones are constantly moving, almost throughout the battle zone. This war significantly increases the importance of technological progress in the Armed Forces and in the process of armed struggle itself,” Syrsky emphasized.
He added that “we are already seeing the use of ground robotic platforms and remotely controlled modules, which once again make it possible to save the lives of our military personnel.”
“That is, the war is moving into a new phase,” said Syrsky.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the Russian-Ukrainian war is “a war not only of people, but also of economies.”
“Of course, when there is a war of this magnitude, of such scope, it is not only a war of people, but also a war of economies. And this is where the collective economy of the West must help us, because we use the most important thing we have – the our people. This is the color of our country,” Syrsky said.
He stressed that Ukraine does not change its goals and strives to reach its borders. As the commander-in-chief said, Ukrainians have no other choice.
“Everything is based on the fact that we must end the war by reaching our borders. No other options are considered, because we have no other choice,” Syrsky said.
However, according to him, society should rally around the common cause of success.
“Everyone needs to force. There is no outside help – we need to establish production here in Ukraine. This process has already begun, we need to increase production. We need to rely on our own strength, “he said.
Also, he said, tactics need to be improved.
“We cannot take the same attitude as the Russian military leaders, when they carry out the tactics of” meat attack. “The soldier has no value. And we see this Their losses are 7-8 times greater than our losses according to the latest data,” he noted.
Speaking about the duration of the conflict, Syrsky indicated that even at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he felt that the war would not have a clear time frame.
“When the invasion began, I felt that I was entering a kind of abyss with no clear time frame. At that time, it was generally unclear when it would end, but I understood that it would be long and difficult,” said commander in chief
We remind you that Rustem Umerov held the first working meeting with the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky. They discussed the issue of a detailed action plan for the army for 2024.
Let’s add that Lieutenant General Alexander Pavlyuk was removed from the position of First Deputy Minister of Defense. However, he was subsequently appointed commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
