The incident occurred on February 11 near the Dorogusk checkpoint on the border with Ukraine. At about 11.30 local time, three trucks driven by Ukrainians entered Poland after border control. The protesters did not let the trucks pass. This was reported by the Polish TV channel RMF24 with reference to the representative of the municipal police commandant’s office, Ewa Czyz.
According to her, border blockers suddenly opened the trailers of Ukrainian cars and some of the grain spilled onto the road. After that, the truck drivers turned the car around and headed towards Ukraine.
The Polish police claim that there were no fights after that. Law enforcement officers are now finding out all the details of the incident, seizing evidence, and establishing the personal information of the protesters. The materials will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for legal and criminal legal examination.
Let us recall that on February 9, Polish organizers of blocking the border with Ukraine stated that since the preliminary protests, nothing has been done about the problem of technical grain from Ukraine and grain “constantly arriving in Poland.” The Poles demand stabilization in the country so that farmers can work normally.
In addition, Polish farmers announced that for the first time they would block the export of Ukrainian goods by rail.
