The Russians use the “K” marking to designate drones already manufactured in Russia, and the “I” marking corresponds to Iranian production.
During the attack on the night of February 11, Russia used Shahed marked “K”, whose numbers exceeded 1600, as well as “I” with numbers over 2600, wrote of Defense Express, citing sources.
“In the Russian Federation there is a fairly active and large-scale accumulation of Shahed-136 type aircraft projectiles, which the enemy independently manufactures from kits and purchases from Iran,” the publication said.
Analysts recalled that the Russians use the “K” marking to designate drones already manufactured in Russia, which have their own design features. And the “I” marking corresponds to a drone made by Iran.
It was noted that since the beginning of July 2023, the Russian Federation has produced more than 1,600 such UAVs and received another 2,600 units from Iran.
“That is, in total, since July 2023, the enemy has launched more than 3,200 Shahed,” wrote Defense Express.
On the night of February 11, the Russian invaders launched 45 suicide-type kamikaze drones for an air attack on Ukraine. Air defense forces and means shot down 40 of them. Enemy drones were destroyed within Kyiv, Vinnitsa, Zhitomir, Kirovograd, Nikolaev, Cherkasy, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk and Kherson regions.
