Clashes between supporters of two rival political parties left three people dead and at least seven injured.
In Pakistan’s southern Sindh province on Sunday, February 11, clashes between supporters of two rival political parties killed three people and injured at least seven. This was reported by Xinhua.
In particular, trouble broke out in the Larkana area between supporters of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA). Despite the fact that the meeting was guarded by the police, the heated debate between the political opponents at some point escalated into a clash of arms.
In the shootout, supporters of both sides and policemen guarding them were killed and wounded.
It was possible to control the situation only after the arrival of additional law enforcement forces.
In the clash, three people were killed, including a policeman, and seven others were injured and taken to the hospital. Two of them are in serious condition.
We remind you that mobile communications and the Internet are off in Pakistan on election day. Pakistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs called these measures reasonable, citing recent terrorist attacks in the country.
The country’s election comes nearly two years after former Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted in a no-confidence vote.
