He learned about the personnel decision made in Kyiv on February 11 from the media. Naev wrote about this on Telegram.
“I learned from the media about my dismissal from the post of commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which he held since 2020,” the message says.
The former commander thanked “all generals, officers, sergeants and soldiers for their dedicated service, for their coordinated work and joint efforts, for their trust and support.” He also emphasized that he believes in Ukraine’s victory in the war with Russia.
Sergei Naev has held the position of Commander of the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since 2020.
Let us recall that on February 11, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky dismissed Sergei Naev from the post of commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, appointing Yuriy Sodol to this position.
The head of state also appointed a new commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This position is now occupied by Alexander Pavlyuk, who was previously the first deputy minister of defense.
