Gift to “Putin’s friend”
At a conference at Harvard University, the head of the American foundation Center for Assistance to Ukraine in the USA, Alexei Prokopenko, showed Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó a fragment of a Russian tank that was destroyed during the conflict in the region of Kyiv.
Hungarian leaders often make statements that contradict the European policy in Ukraine, so the volunteer decided to find his own arguments for the minister.
“It was made in Russia, and burned and recycled in Ukraine. Wear it as a keychain with your house keys so you don’t forget what Russian terror is. Please remember the lessons of history and what those Soviet tanks on the streets of Budapest 1956.” – said Prokopenko, handing the souvenir to the Hungarian minister.
Szijjártó said he considers it unfair to label the Hungarian government as “Putin’s friends.”
