There will definitely not be arrests of the accounts of those evading the law on mobilization, but there will be other coercion. The head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, announced this on February 9 during a telethon.
At the same time, he stated that in Ukraine all persons liable for military service will require a defense attorney certificate.
We need to have everyone in one system. We have already adopted Law No. 10062, which allows us to register all those liable for military service in the “Obereg” register. They must be included in the register and receive a so-called protector certificate. There will be a certificate that will be issued either via the Internet or through a trip to the Center for Emergency Medicine or the TCC,” Arakhamia said.
According to him, this is being done so that the state understands how many people can theoretically be drafted and thus can organize the so-called smart mobilization.
He recalled that many people liable for military service are now hiding and do not want to register with the military, even getting a job unofficially to do this.
We, realizing that no one will do this voluntarily, believe that some coercion is needed to do this. What the Ministry of Defense has now proposed – to arrest everything – is not suitable. This is too harsh, and the state generally does not have the power to force and arrest all these people, and then open criminal cases. I think that we are walking in a dead circle,” Arakhamia added.
