Law enforcement officials have begun an investigation into the killing of unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war by the occupiers near the village of Klishchievka, Donetsk region. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
It was noted that on February 9, a video was distributed to the media of the execution of Ukrainian defenders by representatives of the Russian Armed Forces during the seizure of Defense Forces positions near the village of Klishchievka, Bakhmut district.
“The video from an enemy drone recorded that, perhaps, the commander of one of the army units of the aggressor state during the attack on the trenches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine gives the order not to take the ” said the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The department stressed that the killing of prisoners of war is a grave violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a serious international crime. A pre-trial criminal investigation was launched into violations of the laws and customs of war, including premeditated murder.
Earlier it was reported that Russian war criminals shot captured paratroopers in one of the directions.
We remind you that the three Ukrainian prisoners of war, who were shot by the Russian invaders near Robotin in the Zaporozhye region, were soldiers of the 82nd separate air assault brigade of the DShV.
