Government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk announced this today, February 9, in his Telegram channel.
Porkhun has been acting as First Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs since April 2020. Awarded the title Hero of Ukraine with honors and the Order of the Golden Star.
Since March 2014 he has been in the protection of Ukraine. His unit, in particular, participated in the liberation of Kramatorsk, Slavyanskaya, Lisichanskaya, Shakhtarskaya, Khrustalny, Alchevsk and Boykovsky.
In addition, the government today dismissed Farid Safarov from the post of Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine for digital development, digital transformation and digitalization.
Let us remind you that on February 7, the Verkhovna Rada, with the votes of 302 people’s representatives, supported the resignation of the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Yulia Laputina. Her resignation letter was submitted to the Council on December 5. Laputina has headed the Ministry of Veterans since December 2020.
