Russian intelligence services spend enormous sums to influence Western audiences. This indicates that this audience is important to them, says Andrey Yusov.
The interview of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin with the American journalist Tucker Carlson cannot be a special Russian operation. The representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense, Andrei Yusov, said this in a telethon on Friday, February 9.
“This cannot be a special operation. Of course, this is a method of influence, it is an informational and psychological special operation. Yes, a Russian special operation. Because the target audience of this interview is the free world, the Western world. These narratives are false and the propaganda must somehow convince the free democratic world,” he said.
Yusov called Putin a “geopolitical madman” who “talks about some nonsense about international law, history, decides which countries should exist or not, memes about the Austrian General Staff.”
“They used this IPSO so and so. But the very fact that the Russian special services are spending enormous amounts of money to influence the audience in the West suggests that this audience is important to them. They understand that this is precisely the opportunity to influence the democratic world for them is critically important,” emphasized the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
We remind you that Putin’s extensive interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson was released last night. In particular, the President of the Russian Federation exonerated Adolf Hitler for the attack on Poland on September 1, 1939.
In this regard, the Center for Strategic Communications denied the fake statements from Putin’s interview.
