President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky awarded the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny the title of Hero of Ukraine.

This is stated in Presidential Decree No. 61/2024 of February 8.
For outstanding personal services in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree: to confer the title Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Golden Star to ZALUZHNY Valery Fedorovich, general, as indicated in the text of the decree.
Also, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, received the title of Hero of Ukraine.
For personal courage and heroism demonstrated in the defense of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree: to confer the title Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Golden Star. from February 8.
