“At the nuclear power plants, the operating power of three power units has been reduced to carry out repair work,” the message said.
The company began to report a reduction in the capacity of nuclear units for repairs on Wednesday – at first it was one power unit, on Thursday – two.
In addition, Ukrenergo reported an increase in consumption: on Thursday its daily maximum, recorded at approximately 18:00, was 4% higher than on Wednesday, February 7. Today , until 10:00, the level of electricity consumption was 2% higher than the corresponding figure on February 8.
“The reason for the increase in consumption is the decrease in temperature: 0.3°C today compared to 6.6°C on February 7 and 2.4°C on February 8,” the company explained.
At the same time, no deficit in the energy system is predicted.
At the same time, consumers may be left without electricity due to fighting and other factors – as of Friday morning, 359 communities were without electricity.
There is new damage due to shelling in the networks of Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Nikolaev, and Kherson regions. And for technical reasons there is a shutdown in the regions of Dnepropetrovsk, Kyiv, and Kharkov. Repairs are ongoing.
In turn, the Ministry of Energy reported that today a 250 MW thermal power plant unit has completed long-term repairs. After emergency repairs, three units of generating equipment were put back into operation, and seven units of thermal power plants were kept in reserve, to be used as needed.
