You can be vaccinated throughout the epidemiological period, but immunity does not occur immediately.
Most patients with influenza, coronavirus and other respiratory infections were recorded in Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and Chernivtsi regions. Lina Tolstova, a doctor-epidemiologist of the department of epidemiological surveillance organization of the public health center of the Ministry of Health, announced this on Tuesday, February 6, on the air of a national telethon.
He emphasized that currently we are not talking about epidemics, but there is a possibility that the incidence rate will increase both among children and adults.
“The regions of Rivne, Lviv, Chernihiv and Ternopil have reached an average level of incidence, they are taking appropriate measures locally,” he said.
Tolstova recalled that the flu is characterized by a sharp increase in temperature, other symptoms – cough or runny nose – coincide with the infection of the coronavirus, and only laboratory tests can distinguish what kind of a person has a disease.
At the same time, he recalled that a vaccination campaign is underway in Ukraine, both against Covid and flu.
“You can be vaccinated throughout the epidemiological period, but your family doctor must warn you that immunity against the flu develops within two weeks. You need to take care of your health for two weeks after vaccination: wear a mask, do not visit places where there are large crowds of people and follow basic hygiene rules,” he added.
We remind you that in Sumy students have been transferred to distance learning. In Uzhgorod, schools were also closed for quarantine due to the flu epidemic.
Quarantine has also reportedly been extended to schools in the Vinnytsia community.
