One of Trump’s rival race aides even received an “RIP” warning for not heeding warnings to side with the former president.
In the US, many influential Republicans fear they could become targets of Donald Trump’s promised “reckoning” for refusing to support him if he wins the presidential election. The Washington Post writes about it.
“The former president threatened donors to his opponent Nikki Galey that they would be ‘permanently banned’ from his orbit,” the publication said.
In a speech in New Hampshire, Trump said he would soon be investigated, without saying why, and Trump allies also spread dirty rumors about Gailey’s personal life.
Threats also affected Congressman Bob Good after he endorsed presidential candidate Ron DeSantis.
New House Speaker Mike Johnson was also caught in the crossfire: One of his top political consultants, Jason Gebert, works for the consulting firm Axiom Strategies, which advised DeSantis’ presidential efforts, and the Trump’s campaign called Johnson after he won the speakership to keep him safe from any further contact with Axiom.
High-income donors also felt the aggressive influence, receiving constant “invitations” to rally behind Trump in various ways.
But once other candidates dropped out of the race and spoke out in support of Trump, the former president’s campaign stopped its aggressive campaign.
Other signs of “hardball play” by the Trump team have already been reported. So, one of the aides of Trump’s rival in the race received a warning that sounded like “RIP” (rest in peace, – English) for failing to heed warnings to side with the former president. And this is an incomplete list of threats.
Let’s remember that last year the US Department of Justice indicted former President Donald Trump in the case of storming the Capitol in January 2021.
Earlier, the US Department of Justice published a 37-count indictment against Trump for mishandling classified documents.
