The reason for this decision of the Moscow Basmanny Court was the accusation of “calls for extremism” and “falsifications about the Russian army.”

The Basmanny Court of Moscow, at the request of the investigation, arrested the writer Grigory Chkhartishvili, better known by his pseudonym Boris Akunin, in absentia on the charge of “calls for terrorism” and called “fake about Russian army.”

He will be arrested within two months from the moment of his detention in Russia or extradition, the press service of the court reported.

He was charged in absentia with public calls for terrorist activities (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) and spreading deliberate false information about the Russian armed forces. He is on the international wanted list.

Earlier we wrote that Rosfinmonitoring included the writer Boris Akunin in the register of “terrorists and extremists”.
