The British ship received minor shelling damage off the coast of the Yemeni city of Hodeidah.
A British cargo ship was attacked in the Red Sea on Tuesday morning, February 6. The incident came two days after the UK and US jointly carried out a series of airstrikes against the Houthis in Yemen. This was reported by The Independent.
The ship received minor damage when shelled off the coast of the Yemeni city of Hodeidah, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) said.
The ship was located 57 nautical miles west of Hodeidah. A shell was fired on its port side, and a small vessel was seen to its left. The shell went through the deck and did some damage to the bridge windows.
Ambrey said a Barbados-flagged general cargo ship suffered physical damage from an unmanned aerial vehicle while sailing southeast in the Red Sea.
No one was injured, the ship made an evasive maneuver and continued on her journey.
As already reported, the Houthis attacked the British warship HMS Diamond in the Red Sea.
Let’s remember that on the night of January 12, the United States and Britain launched strikes against the Houthis because of their attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
