On Friday, February 2, two more air defense systems arrived in Ukraine. President Vladimir Zelensky announced this in his evening address. The corresponding video appeared on the Facebook page of the head of state.
The President emphasized that “they shoot down everything,” but did not specify what kind of systems they were. He added that Ukraine worked for months to obtain this equipment.
And the main news for today is news that we have all been expecting for a long time, for which we have been working for months at different levels. The result is that two more air defense systems arrived in Ukraine. All the details, of course, should not be revealed publicly. But the systems are confusing everything. We will protect the regions. For now, the systems are not yet sufficient to fully protect Ukraine, but we are working for this every day,” he said.
Zelensky added that the Ukrainian authorities are already preparing the international work of the next weeks, because “even more activity is needed for the sake of our common strength.”
Let us recall that on January 23, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, at the opening of the 18th meeting of Ramstein, called on the group members to continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, including air defense systems.
