The president said that the details of this matter should not be discussed publicly, but that the resulting air defense system will “knock everything down.”
In an evening video message to Ukrainians today, February 2, President Vladimir Zelensky summed up the day and announced the long-awaited news: two more air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine.
At the beginning of the speech, the President spoke about the meeting of the Headquarters, in particular, he focused on the topic of increasing the production of Ukrainian drones and shells, as well as the construction of fortifications.
Zelensky also noted that during the meeting, special attention was paid to Avdiivka, where it is now very difficult.
Talking about international affairs, Zelensky reported a conversation with the President of Kazakhstan, meetings with the foreign ministers of Canada and Malta (the head of the Foreign Ministry of Malta is the current head of the OSCE).
“And the main news for today is the news that we have been waiting for a long time. On which we have been working at different levels for many months. The result is that two more air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine. All of detail, of course, should not be told in public. But the systems they “brought down everything.” We will protect the regions. At the moment, the systems are not enough to fully protect Ukraine, but we are doing it every day -day,” the president said, concluding his evening speech.
It was previously known that Canada has handed over a draft security agreement to Ukraine. Ottawa believes these should be assurances, not guarantees, but they see no problem with this.
