Design elements have been added to the new uniform to allow female military personnel to feel comfortable when performing tasks in the field and at permanent deployment points, the Ministry of Defense reported.
The suits are made in sizes from 40 to 64, ages from 146 to 188 cm and in two weight groups: II and III. The models were developed by the corresponding division of the Ukrainian Armed Forces together with public organizations and Ukrainian manufacturers. They underwent military research tests in one of the military units.
Tens of thousands of women are currently serving in the Ukrainian army. Of these, about 5 thousand are on the front line. Their number will only grow. We are already seeing increasing interest among women in joining the Armed Forces on a voluntary basis. Our task is to create decent conditions for their service,” said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Natalya Kalmykova.
Currently, an application for the purchase of 65 thousand sets of women’s summer field suits and 100 thousand sets of women’s underwear in 2024 has been generated and submitted to the State Enterprise MOU “Defense Procurement Agency”. Tenders for the purchase of these goods were announced in January 2024. 50 thousand sets of women’s summer field suits have already begun to be delivered to the troops.
