In particular, the attackers also carry out “artillery attacks using chemical hazardous substances.”
Russia has carried out 626 chemical attacks against Ukrainian defenders. This was stated by the Deputy Permanent Representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna Natalya Kostenko at the regular meeting of the OSCE Security Co-operation Forum, as quoted by Ukrinform on Wednesday, January 31.
So, using prohibited weapons, Kostenko says, the Russians are trying to suppress the resistance of the Ukrainian defenders.
“In violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, Russian troops are using gas grenades and improvised explosive devices containing irritants dropped from drones,” he said.
Kostenko added that all such cases are carefully recorded.
“The Ukrainian Defense Forces have already documented 626 cases of Russians using ammunition containing toxic chemicals, of which 81 were in December alone. The frequency of use is growing, with up to 10 cases recorded per day -day.”
Kostenko added that the invaders were also conducting “artillery attacks using chemical hazardous substances, which is another gross violation of the rules of war by Russian troops.”
We remind you that the Russian Federation recently used chemical weapons in Ukraine. The Russian military dropped munitions containing the chemical type K-51 in the Vodyanoe area.
As reported, Russian troops are using chemical hand grenades. Using unmanned aerial vehicles, the enemy is trying to hit Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and using K-51 hand-held tear gas grenades.
