About 80% of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trained in Ukraine, and the remaining 20% are trained abroad.
Currently, the most sought after specialists in the Ukrainian Armed Forces are infantrymen. Viktor Nikolyuk, training commander of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this on Sunday, January 28, in an interview with Radio Liberty.
He said the military is ready to train a large number of infantrymen.
“Right now, we are ready to train any number of personnel, be it 100-200-500 thousand, we are ready. The actual capabilities of all the training centers and the real state of the instructor staff continues to be clarified, because a significant part is involved in the combat mission areas,” the general noted -major.
Nikolyuk noted that almost 80% of the infantrymen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces currently fighting the enemy were trained in Ukraine, and the remaining 20% were trained abroad.
“This is the infantry that goes forward, storms, consolidates itself in a trench, holds positions, enters the enemy’s positions and knocks the enemy out,” Nikolyuk said.
He noted that infantrymen do many complex tasks.
“Without underestimating the role, the drone operators, tankers, artillerymen, mortarmen, whoever, are very important. But above all, it’s the infantry,” the commander said.
Within two months, the recruitment project for the Armed Forces of Ukraine initiated by the Ministry of Defense received more than 50 thousand reviews for posted vacancies.
As you know, on December 25, the Cabinet of Ministers registered in the Verkhovna Rada a bill providing for changes in the processes of mobilization, military registration and military service. But on January 11, after discussions in parliament, the government officially withdrew the mobilization proposal.
We would like to add that the Ministry of Defense has already prepared a new version of the bill.
