Pashinyan said that Armenia will adhere to a peaceful order and will not back down.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he proposed that Azerbaijan sign a non-aggression pact if the signing of the peace treaty is delayed. News.am reported this on Sunday, January 28.
“We proposed that Azerbaijan introduce a mechanism for mutual arms control. It was also proposed to sign a non-aggression pact if it turns out that signing a peace agreement will take longer than expected,” the Armenian leader said .
Pashinyan also added that his state is committed to the peaceful agenda and will not deviate from it.
The Armenian prime minister stressed that Yerevan does not claim any territory other than its sovereignty, and “no one can have any claim to any territory of the Republic of Armenia.”
“As I have already said, we are ready to give such guarantees, strong and irrevocable guarantees, but we expect similar guarantees from others,” Pashinyan said.
Let’s recall that in November Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed on the main principles of the peace agreement.
Earlier, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan spoke about the three main principles for establishing peace and normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
