A German drone manufacturer is planning 100 UAVs in different configurations for Ukraine. The transfer of drones will take place within the framework of a contract signed in September 2023 between Quantum-Systems CEO Florian Seibel and Kyiv city chairman Vitaliy Klitschko. This was reported by the publication Deaidua.
It is noted that in November last year, company representatives announced that they would begin training Ukrainian drone operators in January 2024. The Ukrainian military must master basic skills in deploying and controlling the Trinity family of drones.
It is known so far that the Ukrainians, in particular, will be given the Trinity Pro mapping drone, which has the ability to take off and land vertically. This UAV can stay in the air for 90 minutes. Its flight range is 5-7.5 km, and its maximum take-off weight is 5.75 kg.
It remains unknown whether Quantum-Systems’ drones will be used on the front lines or for other combat missions. The Kyiv City Council will receive these drones.
Let us remind you that on January 17, Ukraine received a new package of military assistance from Germany. The Ukrainian Armed Forces received ammunition for Leopard 1A5 tanks, 25 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones, eight armored personnel carriers, 16 Mercedes-Benz Zetros tankers and five vehicles for border guards.
