In December last year, Russians were first recorded using RG-Vo, a grenade containing chloroacetophenone. This substance is prohibited by the Geneva Protocol. In a room or dugout, she quickly kills everyone present. Captain Andrei Rudyk, a representative of the Center for Research of Captured and Advanced Weapons and Military Equipment, stated this today at a briefing at the Military Media Center.
According to him, in December 2023, 81 cases of invaders using gas grenades were recorded. And since the beginning of a full-scale war, the aggressor has carried out 626 chemical attacks against Ukrainian defenders.
During the briefing, Rudyk demonstrated a sample of a Russian gas grenade, manufactured in 2023 at a plant that has been operating since Soviet times. The officer stressed that this indicates that Russia is lying about fulfilling its obligations under the 1993 Chemical Weapons Convention. The Russian authorities should have destroyed such weapons and related production facilities.
Let us recall that in November last year, Russian invaders used chemical weapons in the Svatovsky and Bakhmutsky directions. Probably, the enemy used chloropicrin, a toxic irritating substance harmful to humans, the vapors of which have a strong lachrymatory effect, and in high concentrations – a suffocating and generally poisonous effect.
