The head of state discussed with the President of Slovenia cooperation with the UN Security Council and the defense needs of Ukraine.
On January 25, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, had a telephone conversation with the President of Slovenia, Natasha Pirc Musar. This is discussed on the president’s website.
Zelensky congratulated Slovenia on the start of non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council and expressed hope for the strong voice of the Slovenian delegation in support of Ukraine.
The parties discussed cooperation within the framework of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. Vladimir Zelensky thanked the Slovenian representative for participating in the 4th meeting at the level of national security advisers and political advisers to heads of state in Davos. He invited Slovenia to be among the participants in the first Global Peace Summit, which preparations began in Switzerland.
The head of state also noted Slovenia’s accession to the Joint Declaration of the G7 countries, which was agreed upon at the NATO summit in Vilnius. The interlocutors discussed the beginning of work on a bilateral document on security guarantees within the framework of this declaration.
Zelensky informed his colleague from Slovenia about the situation on the battlefield and outlined Ukraine’s current defense needs.
Separately, the President thanked Ukraine for its defense and humanitarian support.
Zelensky also noted Slovenia’s participation in the creation of rehabilitation centers in Kharkov and Zhytomyr region and in the reconstruction of a hospital in Izyum, Kharkov region.
