In Ukraine, the main water supply system is 95% completed. Currently, walls are being built on the site and pumps are being installed. The Ministry of Development of Communities, Territory and Infrastructure of Ukraine reported this on January 25.
It was mentioned that along the entire length, which is 145 km, 11 pumping stations are being built to ensure the most reliable operation of the main water supply. We also carry out installation of pipes and construction of electrical substations. Next in line are waterproofing wall works, installation of roofs and installation of automated systems.
More than a thousand workers and more than 400 pieces of equipment are involved in the construction, which takes around the clock. However, shelling slows down the work in some areas.
We remind you that due to the Russian explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric station, residents of Krivoy Rog, Manganets, Nikopol, Tomakovka, Pokrovsk, Maryanskoye and other nearby settlements were left without water. The water pipeline will provide drinking water to approximately one and a half million people.
The construction of a main water pipeline is one of the priority projects of the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territory and Infrastructure and the State Agency for Reconstruction and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, which has been involved in eliminating the consequences of the Kakhovka eruption hydroelectric power station in the first days after the tragedy.
“Consulting engineers and representatives of independent technical supervision work in each of the sections. Also, with the help of the American project USAID Economic Support to Ukraine Project, a comprehensive technical audit of the design documentation for construction of all three sections of the water pipeline will be carried out. All reports with the results of audits and tests, as well as estimates for each type of materials will be made public immediately after passing the test, “said the ministry in a statement.
Let’s remember that last summer the first large-scale water main line was launched near Krivoy Rog.
