Boris Pistorius promised Kyiv additional supplies of artillery and artillery ammunition.
Germany plans to train at least 10 thousand soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by 2024, as well as continue to supply Ukraine with tanks and other equipment. This is what German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said, reported the German publication Tagesspiegel on Wednesday, January 24.
Air defense systems remain a top priority for aid to Ukraine, the German official said. He also recalled that Berlin heads a coalition of partner countries involved in strengthening Ukraine’s air defense.
He noted that Germany intends to transfer additional IRIS-T anti-aircraft systems and Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns to Ukraine this year.
According to him, Berlin should accelerate the production of weapons and the latter is ready to do this work.
The German Defense Minister in Kyiv promised additional supplies of artillery and artillery ammunition and more than 80 Leopard 1 tanks.
The official also promised supplies of armored personnel carriers, engineering tanks, including bridge layers, 450 protected vehicles, mine clearance systems, drones, radar and reconnaissance systems.
As we wrote earlier, Germany transferred a new weapons package to Ukraine. It includes the new Skynex self-propelled anti-aircraft gun along with ammunition. Berlin also transferred additional missiles for the Patriot and IRIS-T SLM air defense systems.
